The Life Stage Brokerage Network understands that disability income insurance for many advisors
is not a primary focus, but it is one of the most important insurance that your clients should
own.
Whether you are looking to supplement existing group disability income insurance, provide
self-employed individual protection, or provide business owners a way to protect the businesses
they have spent years building, this type of insurance should be a mainstay as part of your
offerings.
Through our partnership with Vanbridge (formally known as The National Benefit Corp "TNBC"); The Life Stage
Brokerage Network offers you a one-stop shop for all of your disability income needs.
There are three primary sources of individual disability income insurance: Individual DI,

In 1972, Ryan Petersen was born in Carroll, Iowa. He was raised in the nearby town of Audubon. And while in school, Ryan was active in the Boy Scouts and in numerous sports, including football and wrestling.
In 1990, Ryan graduated from high school and became a firefighter, enlisting in the U.S. Air Force.
In 1992, Ryan married his high school sweetheart, Ms. Rebecca Stohlmann.
Ryan earned his commission...
After serving one assignment in Idaho and two assignments in Germany, Ryan was selected to attend Officer Training School (OTS), and he earned his commission in January 2001. Ryan graduated OTS as a Second Lieutenant, after which he served as project manager for satellite programs.
Over the next decade, Ryan served assignments in Albuquerque NM, Los Angeles CA, and Colorado Springs CO.
Ryan deployed to Afghanistan... later retiring from the Air Force...
From September 2010 to September 2011, Ryan deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
In 2012, after 22 years of service, Ryan retired from the US Air Force at the rank of Major. His awards and decorations included the Bronze Star, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal.
Ryan discovered newfound freedom in 2012...
After his retirement from the U.S. Air Force in 2012, Ryan, Rebecca, and their
two children (Landon and Cora) remained in Colorado Springs, CO. Ryan picked up his real estate license and went to work specializing in Residential Property Management. Ryan and Rebecca also remained active in their local community, volunteering with the Boy Scouts and their local church. They enjoyed the many outdoor activities that Colorado offers, especially hiking the beautiful mountain trails.
Things were looking up for Ryan and his family.
Then one day, in March 2021, at age 49, Ryan's life changed... No one would have expected this for someone as fit as Ryan...
On Sunday, March 7th, 2021, an unexpected event occurred that changed Ryan’s life for the unforeseeable future.
Ryan suffered a rare spinal stroke that left him paralyzed from the chest down. After spending three months in the Denver VA Hospital’s Spinal Cord Injury Center under acute rehab, Ryan was now confined to a wheelchair as a quadriplegic.
Ryan and Rebecca are still active in their local church, and they still enjoy hiking the beautiful mountain trails. — But now, no longer having the freedom of movement that he once enjoyed, they are limited to only those trails that he can access via wheelchair.
Continuing onward...
Ryan continues with his rehabilitative efforts and fully expects to walk again someday.
Listen to Ryan in his own words as he describes his story ... how he is having to deal with his new normal ... how his spinal stroke and confinement to a wheelchair now impact him and his family ... and what some of the things that he wishes he could have done to prepare for a paralyzing event so life-changing and unexpected as this was.
